My friend and I were out skiing during one of the arctic vortex days. One of the main attractions of going out there in the sub-zero temperatures was to witness what the stream was doing. When it’s cold enough, you can see the elemental meander of a stream, as often the main flow channel is ice-free. I love the contrast of the dark, chocolatey water against the white opalescence of the ice. The elegance of the edge of water and ice always refreshes me and makes me smile, because I know that I could never create anything as sensuous and direct that water in different states can. It won’t stop me from trying though.
